Hi everyone,
Today I wanted to mention a book I absolutely love called ‘The Five Love Languages’ written by Gary Chapman. This book has helped me many times with different relationships in my life. If you are struggling to communicate with someone, this book might be the magic potion you need. If your not a big reader check out www.5lovelanguages.com where by asking a few simple questions, you will instantly know your love language.
The secret is, we usually speak our own love language rather than our partners/child’s/colleagues, when really we need to be speaking these.
The five love languages are below, with example so you can discover what your family, friends and work colleagues languages are.
Gifts – They make you gifts, wrap them beautifully, and are delighted when giving them, they may pick a flower while walking and give it to you.
Acts of Service – These people will do things for others without being asked, they make there partner a cuppa in the morning, work hard to provide. Doing things for others, comes easily for them.
Physical Touch – These people love hugs and will touch your arm etc when talking to you. They like to give massages!
Words of Affirmation – These people love to tell you how great you are.
Quality Time – These people love to spend time with you, connecting, having good conversations, going for walks or fishing with you etc, very different then spending time watching TV together, they like to give undivided attention.
Have a play speaking other peoples love languages and watch how your relationships blossom!
