Learning Life’s Lessons
This month has been a little crazy! I don’t want to only learn lessons the hard way, however this is exactly how my latest lesson showed up.
Earlier this week I woke up with a stiff neck, it was pretty sore, so I decided to take the day off and relax. When I woke the next day, I couldn’t even lift my head off the pillow. Imagine rocks in your head and neck pain that felt like you had a fire pit blazing at the base of your skull! Yep it was pretty intense.
After a couple of pain killers, things got worse and so Andy whipped me down to the Doctors. After the Doctor examined me, I was sent to the hospital for more tests. By now I was getting a little worried, a few X-rays and a CT scan later, I was told I had major muscle strain and to go home and rest.
To be honest things had been building for a while. If you know me well, you’ll know this is a bit of a pattern for me. I give, give, give, get worn out and then my body makes me stop. I’m out of alignment and so is my body (hence the sore neck!)
I’m not sharing this message to get sympathy, I’m sharing it because I know I’m not the only one operating in this way. I know other people are also giving so much to everyone else, yet they forget to give to themselves.
So I’m going back to basics. Bringing the simple rituals that bring more joy, satisfaction and love into my life.
If you’re keen, come and join me for the annual Love Your Life 30 day challenge. Its free, fun and starts on the 31st of October with a little bit of prep, before we dive in on Tuesday the 1st of November. You can join the fb group here.
Instead of pushing, we’ll focus on gratitude
Rather than feeling like theres so much to do, we’ll add happiness and joy into the moment and we’ll ramp up our positive self-talk with more kindness, compassion and a whole lot of self-love.
I have a feeling November is going to be a wonderfully, satisfying month.
I hope you can join me.
